Video Editing

In this course we look at organizing your video files, setting up Adobe Premiere projects and editing your videos. The course is split up into the following lessons:

Hopefully after the basic video skills you will be familiar with video file formats and encoding. In this lesson you will learn the basic steps to encode your video so it can be easily edited in Adobe Premiere.

Basic timeline cutting

Video editing can seem quite daunting at first but in this lesson we take you through the fundamentals and introduce the cutting tool to make some basic cuts to your videos. 

Multilayer cutting

Video is often edited on multiple tracks and in this lesson we look at how that it done and how to cut video on multi layers. 

Smoothing out your video

After all that cutting your video might start to get a little jumpy. In this lesson we look at smoothing out your transitions with dissolves. 

Adding a title and a lower third or subtitle

Often you may be selling your work to a country that may not understand your native language and so you will have to add subtitles to your videos. In this leson we covers subtitles and adding a lower third title to your videos. 

Video filters

There are limits to what kind of post processing we can do for editorial video. In this video we cover some basic colour correction and basic filters than can be used in editorial video. 

Exporting for the web and broadcast

Once you have made all your edits and corrected your colour you will be ready to export your video. In this lesson we go through the process step by step to make sure you get the right file size and format.
