NGO Assignments

NGO assignments present a particular challenge to photographers who are required to approach such assignments as editorial photographers and yet still present their client, the NGO, in a favourable light as one would for a commercial assignment. This tends not to be a problem when the NGO is performing well, but when there is a disconnect between what the NGO is saying they are doing and the actual reality on the ground, this can be a significant challenge. Ultimately it is your integrity as a photographer that is at stake. D J Clark interviewed Abir Abdullah from Bangladesh on an NGO assignment he undertook.
